June is here, which means it's summer! The past few days have been in the mid-upper eighties and humid here in Minnesota, which means I have been spending a lot of time outside. Even when it's so hot, it's hard to resist being out in the sun! In order to survive the heat, I wear lots of shorts during the summer.
Some people don't like the way they look in shorts, but I personally think it's all about finding the right fit. For example, I don't like super short shorts because I feel like they make my thighs look bigger than they actually are, and I don't like Bermuda shorts because I feel like they make me look shorter than I am. I tend to go for middle-of-the-road length with a 3-4 inch inseam. A lot of my favorite stores (such as Old Navy and Loft) sell a lot of their shorts in varying lengths, so I like that there are a lot of options.
This summer, I am all about patterned shorts! It is funny how during the school year, I tend to wear solid pants and patterned shirts. However, come summer, I switch it around. I think patterned shorts are a fun way to experiment with patterns without having too much going on. They also allow you to put your plain v-necks and tank tops to good use, making the shorts the focal point.
Here are some of my favorite patterned shorts I've seen on Pinterest. Follow my board to continue to see new inspiration throughout the month!
I can't wait to school is officially out to wear more patterned shorts on a regular basis!
