Lately, it has been in the 80s and 90s almost every day, which means summer is here! In the summer, I change my beauty routine to fit the weather. I find that my hair and skin needs different things to stay healthy and look good. So I want to share with you some of my summer beauty essentials, all under $30, that help me tackle the heat while still looking good!

Over the years I have learned a very important lesson: work with the humidity - don't fight it. When it is humid outside, there is little I can do to control my hair. Therefore, I have been on the hunt for years to find the best products to somewhat style my curly hair. My two favorite products are Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray and Kristin Ess Hydrating Curl Defining Creme. When I want to go for a wavier tousled look I go with the sea salt spray, and when I want to define my curls and have a smoother look I go with the curl defining creme. A bonus is that both of these products smell amazing!
I think it's so important to have SPF in your makeup - especially during the summer. I use Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 for my foundation. It has SPF 15, which is good for when you're just out and about running errands. It's oil free and has a very natural finish, making it feel light enough for summer. It also evens out your skin over time! I also make sure to use an SPF product on my lips when I'm outside for extended periods of time (have you ever got sunburn on your lips? It's the worst!). I like Maybelline New York Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm, Quenched. It goes on really smooth and has SPF 20!
Most people think about moisturizers during the winter because it's so dry out, but moisturizer is still important in the summer! The moisturizers I use in the summer are a lot lighter than the ones I use in the winter. For my face, I love using Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. The fact that this is a gel makes it really light and refreshing for summer, and it doesn't leave my face oily. My face always feels so good after I use this! For my body, I use Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer for fair to medium skin. I love this lotion because it gives my skin a nice tan glow without having to expose myself to so much sun. I rarely have issues with streaks or orangy colors with this lotion, and it leaves my skin nice and smooth. It also dries pretty quickly, so you don't feel like you have to wait too long after applying before putting clothes on!
Taking care of my skin in the summer means using a lot of sunscreen! I am really careful to wear sunscreen whenever I am outside for extended periods of time. My favorite sunscreen for my body is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. I really like this sunscreen because it doesn't make you feel all sticky and greasy after applying. It's super light, not too strong-smelling, and works well for me! I usually get the SPF 30 version, but it comes in higher SPFs if that's what you need. For my face, I use Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion Sunscreen. I can break out really easily if I use regular sunscreen on my face, so I like this one because I think I break out less when using it. I use SPF 30 for this one as well.
So those are some of my favorite summer beauty products, and all under $30! What do you use in the summer to look your best self?
